Who We Are
Premier Pacific Vineyards (PPV) is a Napa Valley-based winegrower and vineyard company specializing in the planting of high quality vineyards in California, Oregon, and Washington. PPV is the parent and management entity of several subsidiaries including Bear Flat, LLC, Buckeye Ranch, LLC, Fuller Mountain, LLC, and Hoover Ridge, LLC (dba Preservation Ranch) that collectively own the 19,652-acre Preservation Ranch property in northwestern Sonoma County, California.
PPV is pleased to have many investors, one of which is CalPERS (the California Public Employees' Retirement System). CalPERS is an investor in a number of PPV’s subsidiaries including Preservation Ranch. Like PPV’s other investors, CalPERS is totally passive. That is, CalPERS did not have any involvement in the selection of any particular asset or its development strategy. Nor does it exercise control over any asset, including those in the Preservation Ranch development. Regardless, PPV has worked to ensure that the Preservation Ranch proposal contains environmental commitments consistent with CalPERS stated environmental goals…commitments aimed at reducing the development potential and improving the environmental condition of the forest and the riparian elements on the Property.
PPV was founded by vineyard pioneer William Hill and real estate/finance veteran Richard Wollack, supported by a team of professionals with experience in winemaking, viticulture, engineering, environmental science, timber management, vineyard development and finance.
All PPV vineyards are farmed sustainably, with a program in place to achieve organic certification within 3 years. As an example of PPV’s approach to environmentally responsible viticulture, its Redwood Vista vineyard in nearby Annapolis, California has won awards for dedication to environmental stewardship and improvement, and environmentally beneficial practices and habitat restoration.
