The Application Process
Preservation Ranch seeks to plant vineyards on its land and has submitted an application to Sonoma County to rezone a small portion of the land to allow the vineyards and to cut trees in some of those areas (less than 9% of the total property area). Preservation Ranch has spent years studying the property and has conducted numerous background environmental studies that are part of a detailed Project Description that accompanes the application. Before any action is taken the County will prepare a full environmental impact report (EIR) on the project, with public hearings giving the citizens of Sonoma County the opportunity to follow and participate in the process.
